Toyota’s decades of expertise in electrified powertrains have made the SUV’s hybrid system more efficient than most rivals. All grades feature an all-wheel-drive setup, making the SUV a reliable companion even in bad road conditions.
The 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid’s interior emphasizes practicality and passenger comfort. Its three rows of seats can accommodate up to seven passengers, and the first and second rows are particularly spacious.
The second row of this Toyota has a pair of fold-down captain’s chairs as standard. However, the Highlander Hybrid XLE offers an eight-passenger configuration, with fold-flat second-row bench seats replacing the captain’s chairs.
The Highlander Hybrid XLE and XLE Nightshade models have SofTex®-trimmed front and second-row seats. The Limited, Limited 25th Edition and Platinum grades feature leather-trimmed front and second-row seats.
All 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid grades come with child-protector rear door locks, power window lockout control, and the LATCH system.
The new Highlander Hybrid offers 16 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row. The cargo room increases to 48.4 cubic feet when the third-row seats are folded down. Folding the second- and third-row seats gives way to 84.3 cubic feet of cargo space. The hybrid SUV also offers plenty of interior storage, including 14 cup and bottle holders.

The hybrid system’s inline-4 engine generates 186 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. The combined system output is 243 horsepower, which is transmitted to the wheels via an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission.
