Cornhole Regulations
Did you know that the American Cornhole Association has strict criteria for what makes a regulation board and bags? It’s true! The plans for this board follow regulations to ensure that the board has a 24″ x 48″ surface of 1/2-inch plywood. The board must be 2 1/2 to 4-inches tall in the front and should sit 12 inches off the ground in the back.
There are also regulations for the bags – they need to be 6-inches square, made from duck canvas, and filled with two cups of corn feed. The corn feed gives a satisfying dust cloud when the bag smacks the board’s surface. You can make your own bags, or a set can usually be purchased online for around $30. Alternatively, you can buy bags filled with plastic beans, which are far more weatherproof. Corn-filled bags can get moldy inside if they’re left out in the rain.
