Lace Up Your Shoes and Get Moving at the Bodies in Motion Run
The annual Bodies in Motion run is returning for yet another year after successful races the past three years. This year’s run is a fundraiser for the Blue Ridge Orthopaedic Foundation. Whether you plan on running or cheering on those who do, it is worth attending.
Where and When
This year’s Bodies in Motion run will be at the Warf in the Warrenton Aquatic and Recreation Facility. If you aren’t familiar with the facility, it is at 800 Waterloo Road right here in Warrenton. The run is on Sunday, September 17, and the races begin at 8:30 a.m. The Fun Run begins a half hour earlier at 8 a.m.
Race Choices and Registration Fees
The Bodies in Motion run is designed to offer choices for all skill levels, so you can participate in any of the runs you want. The 1-Mile Fun Run is unofficially timed and perfect for kids or adults, although many runners will be children. Feel free to register and run alongside your child for a fun bonding experience. Registration for the Fun Run is $10.
There is also a 5k Run/Walk and a 10k Run/Walk so you can choose the distance you want to go. Registration for these races is $30 and $35, respectively. If you are one of the first 250 people to register, you can get $10 off your fee with the code BIM250.
There will be cash prizes for the winners. You are also welcome to race with baby strollers or to walk the race – just make sure to be considerate of other participants. Keep in mind that the roads used during the course will be open to the public, so you should stick to the guided route and stay by the side of the road.
Bonuses to Enjoy at Bodies in Motion
Just for participating in the Bodies in Motion run, you will get a race T-shirt. Just remember that these are on a first come, first served basis. For those participating in the 5k and 10k run/walks, you will get a text message at the end that shows your finish time as well as statistics. To get this info, just make sure to include your cell phone number during online registration. You will even get a link to a personal video of you crossing the finish line that you can share with friends and family.
Blue Ridge Orthopaedic Foundation
As mentioned earlier, the race supports Blue Ridge Orthopaedic Foundation. This foundation helps local non-profit organizations that provide medical relief, shelter, food, and/or services for children within Prince William and Fauquier counties.
