Earth Day: And Why Conservation is Important
The National Park Service and the State Park system are firm believers in conservation and protection of wildlife. Leesylvania State Park is a prime example of the importance of conservation. This park was reclaimed after an extended period of time of being neglected. Now, it is more beautiful than ever! The Virginia Department of Conservation has worked hard to maintain the pristine conditions of this hidden gem. Ospreys and other migratory birds can be spotted here in their native habitats. Protecting this environment is important because we all benefit from the beautiful scenery and clean air it provides.
Earth Day: Useful Garbage
Part of the learning process is assessing adverse impacts of trash on the environment. In these two sessions, you will learn how to make useful objects out of the garbage.
*The usual State Park fees for admission are applicable here. There are no extra events costs to attend the sessions or the screenings of the “Green Fire” film.
