How Does the Scion Transition to Toyota Brand Affect Scion Drivers?
By now you have probably heard the big news that the Scion brand is transitioning back to Toyota. Scion drivers may be a little alarmed by the news and wondering what this means for them and their vehicles going forward. Our expert staff at Warrenton Toyota want you to know there is nothing to be alarmed over.
The Announcement From Scion
In February, Scion announced that it was going to begin a transition back to the Toyota brand. They said they had achieved what they had hoped to achieve with the Scion line by reaching a younger audience, but will now be transitioning the line into the Toyota lineup. “This isn’t a step backward for Scion; it’s a leap forward for Toyota. Scion has allowed us to fast track ideas that would have been challenging to test through the Toyota network,” said Jim Lentz, founding vice president of Scion and now CEO, Toyota Motor North America. “I was there when we established Scion and our goal was to make Toyota and our dealers stronger by learning how to better attract and engage young customers. I’m very proud because that’s exactly what we have accomplished.”
The Transitioning of Scion Vehicles
The Scion line has been very popular and it is not going away, these popular scion models are simply going to be rebadged and integrated into the Toyota lineup. Drivers will still be able to purchase the vehicles that they have grown to love in the Scion brand, they will simply officially be a part of the Toyota brand going forward.
Toyota Service centers are going to continue to service Scion brand vehicles in their service centers. Scion drivers can continue to expect the same quality and expertise that they have always received from the Toyota Service centers at the dealerships. Drivers in the Warrenton area definitely do not need to be concerned because our fully trained technicians at the Warrenton Toyota Service center will have them covered for all of their service needs.
