 The Toyota Corolla has been a well-known and loved model for decades, but the familiar name has a new look with the all-new 2022 Corolla Cross. Fitting into the SUV lineup, its arrival has been highly anticipated. Let's take a closer look at what makes the Corolla Cross special.

All Corolla Cross trims feature a 2.0-liter engine with 169 hp and 151 lbs.-ft of torque and a continuously variable automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is available as an upgrade to the L or LE trims, and it comes standard with the XLE trim. The impressive four-cylinder engine also allows for great fuel efficiency. It has an EPA-Estimated 31 mpg city and 33 mpg highway, or a combined 32 mpg.

 

If you're looking for an even smoother ride, the XLE trim offers a multi-link rear suspension. This optimizes handling performance to help ensure better ride quality.

 

Interior

 

With a driver-focused design, the interior of the Corolla Cross boasts several features to enhance comfort. There is plenty of head room, and with 8.1 inches of ground clearance, drivers can be confident they have a clear view of traffic. Upgrades include heated front seats, a 10-way power-adjustable seat with lumbar support, dual control air-conditioning, and a moonroof. Passengers will also be happy with rear-seat vents and a larger backseat for extra legroom.

 

There's no need to worry about storage either! The rear seats offer a 60/40 split allowing you to put down either side as needed for larger items. Of course, both can be laid down for maximum space. Overall, the Corolla Cross offers 26.5 cubic feet of total cargo space.

 

Technology

 

Everything is front and center, including a seven-inch multi-information display that allows the driver to keep track of directions, data, and alerts while keeping both hands on the steering wheel.

 

The dashboard features an additional eight-inch screen that can easily be controlled with just a tap or a swipe. It can also be paired with an Android or Apple phone for even more features like making calls, following directions, or listening to music. You can even eliminate messy phone cables with the available Qi wireless charging.
